Mission 01

Kick off your journey with our informative webinars and interactive online courses. They are the keys to understanding the stakes and honing your cyber-defensive skills.
Mission 02

Distill what you learned from the training and craft a dynamic 30 to 90-second IG Reels. Your goal? To ignite a movement of personal data vigilance that resonates with your generation.
Mission 03

Lastly, all Guardians of the Dataverse will convene at an award ceremony where we will announce the winning videos and recognize the contribution of our Guardians for safeguarding the Dataverse.

The competition consists of Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Divisions. Each Guardian will receive a certificate of the farthest mission they can achieve, and each team member will receive the following prizes according to their team's achievement in the respective division

Is it a must to include 4 students from the same school in a team?
Yes.

Can students from the same team from different form?
Yes, students in the same team can come from different form, and the team will be allocated to a division where the oldest member of the team belongs to. The divisions are:
- Junior Secondary Division: Form 1 to Form 3 (Year 7 to 9) students in the School Year of 2023/24
- Senior Secondary Division: Form 4 to Form 6 (Year 10 to 12) students in the School Year of 2023/24.

Can a student member of a team be changed after registration?
Yes. Please note that in order for the team to proceed to the short video making phase, every team members in the team must have completed all webinars, and passed the quizzes in the online courses individually. Hence, any new members joining during the video making phase must go to the Online Learning Platform and complete all webinar replays and pass the online course quizzes, so the team will be qualified to proceed further.

How do I apply and will I receive a confirmation email of successful registration?

What language will the webinars and online courses be conducted?
The webinars will be conducted in Cantonese, since it is live, there won’t be any subtitles. The online courses are in Cantonese supplemented by English subtitles.

Where can I find the link to join the webinars and online course materials?
Details of the webinar and online course will be emailed to registered teams, and can be found via the “Online Courses” link on this website in due course.

If I am not available to attend the live webinars, will there be replays?
We encourage all students to attend the live webinar, which will include interactive sessions such as quizzes with prizes, Q&A, and more. Students who are unable to attend the Live Webinar can replay the content on the Online Courses platform. Please note that if you do not complete the webinar (live or replay), your whole team will not receive the Certification of Participation, and will not be qualified to proceed to Mission 2 (short video making) phase.

What language can I use in the short video?
You can use English, Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese in the video.

What is the video format and requirement for the short video?
The video should be at least 30 seconds and at most 90 seconds long. We accept .mov or .mp4 file format with a maximum file size 300MB. The video should be filmed in 9:16 aspect ratio, portrait mode, in FullHD (1080×1920) resolution.

How do I submit the video? Will I get a confirmation email of successful submission of a video?
A form will be emailed to the teams who are eligible to participate in Mission B for submission of the video.

May I submit more than one video? Can I revise my submitted video?
Teams who have completed the webinar and self-paced courses, and qualified to proceed to video-making, will receive email about the details. Please stay tuned.

Who will be the judges for the IG Reels competition?
The judging panel will be comprised of technology industry experts, data protection domain experts, and digital marketing experts.

What is the Convention of Guardians of the Dataverse and how can I participate in it?
The Convention of Guardians of the Dataverse is an award ceremony where we will showcase the top 15 videos from each division, and announce the winning videos at the event. Teams of the top 15 videos from each division will be invited to join the event, which will be a physical event held on 28 September, 2024. Details of the Convention will be provided via email to the teams of the Top 15 videos of each division.

What kinds of certificates will I receive from joining this program?
- all team members of a team who have completed all webinars and passed the quizzes in the online courses individually will receive a Certificate of Participation.
- when a team submit 30 to 90-second IG Reels with reasonably relevant and meaningful content about “personal data and privacy protect in the Internet” by 31 Aug, all team members will receive a Certificate of Completion.
- If your video got any winning titles at the Award Ceremony, all team members of the winning video will receive a certificate of the winning titles accordingly.
